STATUTES FOR THE GRANTING OF AWARDS OF THE THE SPANISH ORGANOMETALLIC CHEMISTRY GROUP

DISTINCTIONS

1 - The Spanish Organometallic Chemistry Group (hereinafter, GEQO) from the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (hereinafter, RSEQ) will grant the following annual distinctions:

  1. GEQO Gold Medal. It will reward a trajectory of high prestige, with exceptional contributions, continued and verified, in the field of Organometallic Chemistry in Spain.
  2. GEQO Award for Research Excellence. It will reward the scientific trajectory during the last five years prior to the Award call, following parameters similar to those considered in the previous section.
  3. GEQO Award to Young Researchers. The scientific trajectory of candidates under the age of 40 will be evaluated according to the parameters mentioned in the previous points, in particular the aspects related to leadership and/or research independence.

OPEN CALL

2 - The open call for these medals will be announced every year between January and March, and will have a deadline for nominations of one month from the date of the call.

CANDIDATES

3 - The candidates must have been members of GEQO for at least three years. Likewise, each candidate will be nominated by a member of the GEQO with at least five years of seniority in the Group. Each member can only endorse a nomination within each award category.

CANDIDATURE

4 - Each candidature will have a validity of two years, provided that the requirements of the candidates continue to apply, and as long as the person endorsing it does not withdraw it.

PROPOSALS

5 - The proposals shall consist of a written letter justifying the merits of the candidate, and will be accompanied by a summarised curriculum vitae of the candidate.

WITHIN THE SAME CALL

6- It shall not be possible to be a candidate for more than one Award within the same call.

CANNOT BE CANDIDATES

7 - Members of the GEQO who have already received an RSEQ Award in the form of a Medal, Area Award, or Youth Award may not be candidates for the three GEQO Awards, respectively.

MEMBERS OF THE BOARD

8 - The members of the current Governing Board of the GEQO cannot be candidates for these awards.

TIME FRAME

9 - Within a month after the deadline for nominations, the Awards Committee will make a reasoned proposal in writing, which will be ratified by the GEQO Governing Board and communicated to all the members.

COMMISSION

10 - A Commission will be appointed by the Governing Board from among the members of the GEQO who have received RSEQ or GEQO Awards in previous editions. The decisions of the Committee will be final.

AWARDS

11 -The awards will not include any economic reward and will be accompanied by a Diploma. The Diploma will include the logos of the GEQO and RSEQ.
